FBSLessons #54 - Your Purpose In Life June 02, 2006 |
|
NEWSLETTER 053 MESSAGEMessage: Your Purpose In Life “ Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. [1 Cor. 10:31] What is your purpose in life? Where do you find satisfaction and fulfillment in life? If it is in anything less than the glory of God, we will be frustrated and have a sense of emptiness. “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Rev. 4:11 We were created to bring glory to God. It is the very core of our being. Sin pulls us away from our purpose and seeks our own glory. Our lives, our marriages, our jobs, our families, our very existence, even our deaths are to bring glory to God. We are to line up all that we are, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to bring glory to God. How do we live and die for the glory of God? We are to order our lives according to the Word of God. As we live with unswerving faith and obedience to the Word of God, God receives glory. When we are tempted to do things our own way but instead choose God’s way, God receives glory. When we go through the valley of the shadow of death and still remain faithful to God, God receives glory. We will never find the true joy and satisfaction of life until will do everything for the glory of God. Our entire motivation should be to uphold the glory of God. It is easy to loose sight of this. It is easy to get wrapped up in this world. I read just recently of a ‘Christian’ founder of a well-known activist organization in the US who abandoned his wife and children for a woman 22 years his junior. He then declared bankruptcy, raised money from his followers, and bought a house valued at almost half a million dollars in a state where bankruptcy courts cannot touch a person’s home. It is sad to read of people who go after their own glory. In less dramatic ways, we are all tempted to live for our own glory, seeking our own advantage. We must keep the glory of God front and center of everything we do. We must follow the example of our Master, Who laid aside His own will in order to glorify God in His death. Whether we live or die, let our heart be to glorify God. Announcements There is a new report on site - The Danger Of The Date Of Revelation. I believe that if we do not start with the correct writing date of the Book of Revelation, we will never come to a correct understanding of this great book. The above report gives the Scriptures reasons why I believe in an early date [i.e. before A.D. 70]. I am working on a new report on living without guilt. It would be ready later this month. SPECIAL NOTE: My son, Micah Davis, is 10 years old. He has had Juvenile Diabetes [Type 1] for 5 years. He needs to test his blood with 4-5 finger pokes per day plus he receives 3-4 injections of insulin per day.
On June 25/06 we are doing a 5 kilometer walk to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada. They are just steps away from a cure. If you would like to support us with a donation you may do so securely over the internet at the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada. Please enter the following information: God bless you, PS. You may forward this newsletter to any of your friends you think might be interested as long as you don’t s p a m.
