Witness Alert - A Witness Alert is an official request make through the news media for witnesses with any information about a specific crime to come forward. It gives the details of time and place where the crime was committed so people who were in the vicinity and may have seen something but not realized what they saw will be alerted to the possible evidence they may have. It also strongly reminds people that withholding evidence would make them an accessory to the crime.
