Making money on the Internet is often hyped up. In tough times people look for ways to make extra money. There are many con-artists who take advantage of hurting people. Desperate people want to believe in getting rich quick - or even just having enough money to pay the bills or keep their home.

In these troubled times many people are turning to small businesses on the side to help bring in the needed extra money. Making money on the Internet is one such way. Now the sad fact is the vast majority of websites fail to attract visitors and cost $1,000's of dollars. Very few people actually succeed in making money on the internet.

Why should you expect any different results? How can you expect to be making money on the Internet when millions fail? The answer is simple. If you follow my instructions you will be doing it right. Can I guarantee your success? No. No human being can make such a guarantee. [First advice: avoid anyone who does.]

You can be making money on the Internet even if you know nothing about computers and website building. The recommendations that I am about to make will work as long as you know how to turn a computer on, follow simple instructions, and move a mouse. The technical details are not hard - the real question is: Can you harness them for your benefit?

Making money on the Internet will bring me how much income? What is the potential? People are making from $100's per month to $1,000's per month and more. The potential is unlimited. It all depends on your ideas and your willingness to work them. This is not a get-rich-quick scheme. You will work and it will take time, but you can build a good income - if you do it right.

Ready to start? Read carefully. Let your imagination flow. Begin to dream again. This is possible FOR YOU, but don't move out of the path or you may join the millions who fail and disappear on the Internet.

The obvious place to begin is with a website. Web designers can charge $1,000's to build a website. They can make it pretty and flashy, but they can't make anyone visit it! Many websites are designed to impress the owners not the visitors - always a big mistake.

On the other hand, there are many free web hosts, but you may end up with an amateur-looking site. Plus, you likely will not have your own domain name. Having your own domain name is very important for, at least, two reasons:
1. It gives creditability to your website. If visitors see that your address is on a free host then they think that you are not serious about your business and also that you will not be around for the long term. Easy to put up - easy to vanish.
2. If your web host disappears so does your site and all the clients you have built up. I learned this the hard way. I started out on a free web host. One day they disappeared - along with all my work! I had to start again. With your own domain name, if your web host disappears you can set up with the same name on a different host [always make sure you have backups of your pages on your computer] and your clients will still be able to find you.

With these programs you only pay when a person clicks on your ad and goes to your site. Google has such a program, although I have not used it. If your web business model requires you to be able to talk to your clients, Skype will allow you to talk with audio or video computer to computer FREE almost anywhere in the world. If you need to talk to a land line or cellphone that can also be done but it is not free. I use this with my Learn To Read program.
